We are currently seeking a sophisticated and experienced Senior Project Manager to support one of our top-tier retail clients in managing a complex portfolio of IT and digital projects. This role is highly visible and critical to the success of our client's enterprise-wide initiatives.
Role Summary:
As a Senior Program Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing large-scale, cross-functional IT and Digital projects as part of an Enterprise PMO. This role requires a seasoned professional with the ability to manage a diverse portfolio, maintain executive-level stakeholder engagement, and ensure the successful execution of strategic projects. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in both project management and the retail industry, ensuring that technology initiatives align with broader business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Management: Lead and manage the full lifecycle of multiple, complex IT and digital projects, ensuring alignment with the client's business objectives and delivering measurable outcomes.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a primary point of contact between the Enterprise PMO, IT, Digital teams, and senior leadership at the client organization. Maintain open communication and strong relationships across all levels.
- Strategic Leadership: Collaborate closely with senior executives to define project scope, goals, and success metrics. Provide strategic insights and recommendations to help guide decision-making.
- Governance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to the client's PMO governance standards. Deliver detailed project reporting, including status updates, budget tracking, and risk assessments.
- Risk Management: Identify, mitigate, and manage risks across the project portfolio. Develop contingency plans and drive projects to successful completion in dynamic environments.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor cross-functional project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Industry Expertise: Leverage your deep knowledge of the retail industry to drive customer-focused results and operational improvements.
- Technology Integration: Work closely with the client’s IT and Digital teams to ensure all project deliverables are aligned with enterprise architecture and technology standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 10+ years of project management experience in large, complex environments. Strong preference for candidates with a retail industry background.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage high-visibility, enterprise-level projects and programs with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Communication: Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging and influencing senior executives and key stakeholders.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of IT and Digital strategies, including experience with software development, digital transformation, and e-commerce platforms.
- Project Management Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid) and governance frameworks.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., IT, Business, Project Management). PMP certification or similar qualifications preferred.
