About the Role

Randstad Digital’s Consulting practice is supporting a large private company in the food and beverage manufacturing space on a major global SAP S/4HANA transformation. We are hiring a Senior SAP S/4HANA Tax Transformation Project Manager to support the client’s Corporate Tax team as they migrate from their current tax/ERP environment to SAP S/4HANA across multiple countries.

This is not a general SAP Project Manager role. This role requires direct SAP S/4HANA transformation, deployment, implementation, migration, or rollout experience. Candidates who have only supported SAP production environments, general ERP projects, SAP ECC, SAP reporting, or non-S/4HANA programs will not be the right fit.

The ideal candidate has operated in a complex SAP S/4HANA deployment environment and understands how challenging S/4HANA transformations can be. This person must be able to drive structure, execution, accountability, and stakeholder alignment across corporate tax, finance, IT, consulting/SI partners, and business teams.

Project Overview

The client is implementing SAP S/4HANA for its Corporate Tax function as part of a large global ERP transformation. The program includes a multi-country deployment, with rollout activity expanding across seven additional countries. This role will support project execution across cutover, hypercare, training, country readiness, deployment planning, risks/issues, stakeholder communication, and leadership reporting.

Tax areas may include statutory tax, income tax, indirect tax/VAT, transfer pricing, tax technology, corporate tax processes, and finance/FICO-adjacent workstreams. The successful candidate does not need to be a hands-on tax SME across every tax area, but must have enough tax, finance, or tax technology fluency to effectively manage the workstream and communicate with subject matter experts.

What You Will Do

Lead project execution for SAP S/4HANA Corporate Tax transformation and deployment activities.

Drive planning, governance, status reporting, risks/issues, action items, dependencies, and stakeholder follow-through.

Support country rollout readiness as the program expands across multiple countries.

Coordinate across Corporate Tax, Finance, IT, business stakeholders, consulting/SI partners, and other program teams.

Support cutover, hypercare, training readiness, testing coordination, deployment planning, and post-go-live stabilization.

Organize complex information into clear project plans, executive-ready updates, RAID logs, decision trackers, and action plans.

Identify blockers, clarify ownership, escalate risks, and drive issue resolution before they impact deployment milestones.

Operate with urgency and ownership in a complex, global, matrixed transformation environment.

Required Experience

Direct SAP S/4HANA transformation, deployment, rollout, implementation, or migration experience.

Experience supporting Tax, Corporate Tax, Tax Technology, Finance/FICO, statutory tax, indirect tax/VAT, transfer pricing, or closely related SAP finance/tax workstreams.

Strong project management experience in large-scale enterprise transformation programs.

Experience with cutover, hypercare, testing, training readiness, go-live support, deployment planning, or country rollout activities.

Ability to drive organization, accountability, and execution across multiple teams without needing every ownership path to be clearly defined upfront.

Strong experience with project governance tools and artifacts such as RAID logs, RACI, action trackers, status reports, milestone plans, dependency trackers, and executive updates.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise leadership messaging.

Comfort working with senior stakeholders, consulting partners, business users, IT teams, and functional subject matter experts.

Highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and able to operate in ambiguity.

Preferred Experience

Big 4, Accenture, large consulting firm, SAP partner, or tax technology consulting background.

Experience in Corporate Tax, Tax Technology, Operational Transfer Pricing, statutory tax, income tax, indirect tax/VAT, or tax transformation.

Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance, FICO, Central Finance, tax engines, tax reporting, or ERP tax process transformation.

Experience with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Power BI, Signavio, Smartsheet, Monday.com, SAP Activate, SAP Cloud ALM, ONESOURCE, Vertex, or similar platforms.

Experience supporting global or multi-country SAP deployments, localization, or template rollouts.

PMP, Agile, SAP, CPA, tax, finance, or transformation-related certifications are a plus.

This Role Is Not a Fit If

You are a general SAP Project Manager without direct SAP S/4HANA deployment or transformation experience.

You have SAP ECC experience but no meaningful S/4HANA implementation, migration, deployment, or rollout exposure.

You are primarily a hands-on SAP solution architect or configuration consultant who prefers designing the solution over driving project execution.

You have tax experience but no SAP S/4HANA transformation or deployment experience.

You have PMO/status reporting experience but have not actively driven execution, ownership, risks/issues, and stakeholder alignment in a complex transformation.

You need a fully defined structure before taking action. This role requires someone who can create structure, clarify ownership, and drive progress in ambiguity.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The strongest fit is a consulting-caliber SAP S/4HANA Tax or Finance transformation leader who has supported complex deployments and can operate as a true driver. This person may come from a Big 4, Accenture, SAP partner, tax technology, corporate tax transformation, or enterprise ERP transformation background.

They should understand the complexity of S/4HANA deployments and be able to help the client’s Corporate Tax team move through rollout, cutover, hypercare, training, country readiness, and executive reporting without getting lost in the complexity of the program.
